Coach Dion reminded me the other day that the season statistics for Hank’s cricket team are online. The team search page is here (search for Kaikorai Vipers Section 4) and Hank’s individual stats are here. I set the security so that hopefully the links all work without signing in. Now for team batting it’s obvious they’re listed by runs scored, but I can’t quite figure out how the bowlers are listed.

Today the Kaikorai Vipers beat Green Island 137 – 75. Hank got 30 runs, 1 wicket, was a great wicket keeper, and was awarded Man of the Match:
Hank’s cricket has started up again from the holiday break. Here are a couple of pictures of Hank batting and bowling. Last week was pretty tough, with only 6 players so they got pretty tired, but this week we had a couple more and had a great game.
Hank made a boysenberry pie, with my help. We got the recipe off a TV show. They called it a tart.

As is usual for a Cricket Saturday I got up at 7:00 and made sausages and scrambled eggs. After finishing reading the paper and drinking my coffee we piled into the car and made it down to the Oval by 9:00 for the Kaikorai Vipers game against one of the Northest Valley teams. Hank’s side fielded first and held the other team to 37, with Hank bowling first and getting a wicket on his 2nd bowl. Several other of our bowlers got wickets and there was at least one runout. The Vipers then battled to a total of 105, with Hank getting 17. The other team was new and very inexperienced, which has been the case for the last few weeks. We were lucky it didn’t rain, but it was a bit cold, especially for summer. The Vipers are great fun to watch.

Hank was the Star Student at the last Senior Assembly, for “All round fabulous class work”.
